Housing
There are several, non-gaming properties within a 15 minute drive of the institute including Courtyard Marriott, Hampton Inn and La Quinta Inn. Located in Summerlin, they are close to restaurants, shopping and have great views of the mountains.
For those wishing a more traditional resort experience, the Stratosphere, Wynn, Trump, and Circus Circus hotels are each within a 20 minute drive of the Institute.
There are limited homestays available for Teacher Trainees. These will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and are all in non-smoking homes. We would be happy to arrange roommates as well, to save on hotel costs.
For teenage flute students attending our Advanced Flute Track, we have homestays available. You will be living with a Suzuki family whose child/children are attending the DSI. Students taking advantage of this must be a minimum of 13 years of age, have parental permission and a medical permission slip. Students will be picked up at McCarran Airport by their host family or DSI Staff.
