Faculty

Cleo Ann Brimhall resides in Salt Lake City Utah where she teaches students and trains teachers in her private studio. Cleo holds an MM degree from the UofN and studied with Dr. Suzuki and Dr. Kataoka. As a teacher trainer with the SAA, she travels internationally as a clinician and lecturer. She has served as Institute Director and on Suzuki Boards nationally and locally. Her students have participated in Suzuki conferences and performed in 10 Piano concerts worldwide. Several former students have completed University Degrees in piano performance and returned to her to be trained as Suzuki Piano Teachers. |

Rebecca Lile Paluzzi is Professor of Flute and director of the Suzuki Studies Program at East Tennessee State University. She is a registered Teacher-Trainer with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and the European Suzuki Association and has taught courses for Suzuki teachers and students in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, Finland, Germany, Japan, Korea, and New Zealand and has served as SAA Flute Representative to the International Suzuki Association.
Mrs. Paluzzi holds a BM in Multiple Woodwind Performance, a MM in Flute Performance, and a Diploma in Suzuki Pedagogy from the Talent Education Research Institute School of Music in Matsumoto, Japan, where she was a student of Toshio Takahashi.
In July of 2007, Mrs. Paluzzi released a CD entitled Forty Little Pieces which she recorded with her teacher, Louis Moyse who arranged the collection.
Mrs. Paluzzi enjoys biking, kayaking, and hiking with her dogs, Gracey and Apex.

Andrea Greger was born and raised in Muelheim, Germany and moved to the United States in 1998. Her and her husband have 4 children. Andrea was introduced to the Suzuki method through her children learning to play the violin. She studied with Cleo Brimhall, Linda Nakagawa, Huub de Leeuw and Cathy Hargrave. In the past she has been the director of the Intermountain Suzuki Institute and currently serves as th epiano VP for the Suzuki Association of Utah. |
Joyce Bennett received her Bachelor of Arts degree in flute performance from American University in Washington, DC and completed graduated studies in Suzuki flute pedagogy in the ETSU Suzuki Studies Program at East Tennessee State University. A certified Suzuki teacher at all levels Mrs. Bennett is also a certified Music Mind Games teacher. She has maintained Suzuki flute studios in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City and currently teaches Suzuki flute and Music Mind Games at the Levine School of Music in Washington, DC.
Her teachers include Eugene Foster, William Kincaid, Mark Thomas, Roger Stevens, Toshio Takahashi, Rebecca Paluzzi,and Louis Moyse. She has played with the Utah Symphony, the Pacific Palisades Orchestra, and the West Valley Chamber Orchestra. She has taught and presented at Suzuki institutes, conferences and workshops in Colorado, Washington, Utah, Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. She has performed at the Louis Moyse International Flute Master Class in Saint Amour, France and has studied Suzuki Pedagogy with Toshio Takahashi in Matsumoto, Japan.

Laurel Ann Maurer, Flutist, has been described by The New York Times as a secure technician and an assured, communicative interpreter. Ms. Maurer studied with Julius Baker, Jeanne Baxtresser, Samuel Baron and Toshio Takahashi She has released over 12 CD s and appears on numerous others. Ms. Maurer has traveled throughout North and South America and Asia giving performances and master classes. She currently resides in Vermont where she plays regularly with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, the Vermont Contemporary Music Ensemble and in recitals with pianist Paul Orgel. Laurel is a certified Suzuki Teacher Trainer in flute. |

Kaen Huffmen has been playing piano since she was six years old and began her study with the Suzuki Method at the Suzuki Institute of Dallas. She began studying with Cathy Hargrave when she was nine years old and remained with her until she graduated from highschool. In college, she focused most of her study on a Film & Animation degree but earned Minor in Music from Rochester Institute of Technology. Upon returning to Dallas, she returned to study with Cathy Hargrave and has been studying Suzuki Teacher Training with her since 2007. In 2009, she earned her Masters in Music Education focusing on Piano Pedagogy from Southern Methodist University. She is an active member of the Dallas Music Teacher Association and has had several students successfully participate in MTNA sponsored theory tests and competitions. She is also a member of the North Texas Suzuki Association and has several of her students participating in their events this year. She has now been teaching in the Dallas, TX area for 4 years. She lives there with her husband, Chris, and two cats, Boots and Moses. |
